Abstract

Communication skills are crucial for preventing miscommunication within the school environment. This miscommunication can also lead to misunderstandings between teachers and students. The purpose of this community service program is to provide information and change the attitudes of students and teachers at SMPN 13 Depok regarding misinformation. The program implemented is BERKATA (Bersama Komunikasi Merata), an interactive communication program that involves the school community actively participating in addressing misinformation issues. The program is designed as a face-to-face dialogue and interactive content on social media, prioritizing collaborative discussions between teachers and students regarding misinformation issues. The program ran for two weeks, with two face-to-face meetings and content on social media. The program resulted in changes in student and teacher attitudes, as evidenced by survey results, which showed that the majority of students agreed that dialogue through the BERKATA program empowers students to voice communication issues within the school environment.
